




The Evolution of Orkie
Orkie began as a popular booth giveaway but quickly became one of Orca Security's most recognizable brand assets. As the company grew, leadership wanted to modernize the character and expand its role within the brand.
Before generative AI, we partnered with multiple agencies to explore different directions for Orkie's appearance and personality. Internal surveys helped identify which concepts resonated most with employees and leadership, but the process was costly and slow.
Recognizing the potential of emerging AI tools, I introduced a new workflow that allowed us to rapidly generate and evaluate hundreds of concepts. This accelerated decision-making, reduced costs, and helped align stakeholders around a clear vision for the character.
Orkie later became a central storytelling element for major initiatives, including Sales Kickoff (SKO) and RSA Conference. Working with DeepSky, we developed an animated version of the character that connected event experiences, booth activations, and product messaging through a unified narrative.
As AI adoption expanded across the company, maintaining consistency became increasingly important. In 2026, I led the development of updated 2D and 3D versions of Orkie and created brand portal guidelines that enabled teams to generate new content while preserving a cohesive visual identity.
The result was a scalable character system that transformed Orkie from a popular giveaway into a recognizable brand icon, supporting campaigns, events, storytelling, and AI-assisted creative production across the company.
